WE ARE

EQUIPPING

THE SAINTS

TO DO THE WORK

OF THE MINISTRY (Eph 4:11-16)

Equipping the Saints

“And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.” — Ephesians 4:11–12 (ESV)

At Witbank Baptist Church, we take this biblical mandate seriously.
Equipping isn’t just a program — it’s part of our DNA as a church. Our goal is to help believers grow in sound doctrine, spiritual maturity, and Christlike service so the whole body is strengthened.

Why We Equip

We use a variety of ministries and training opportunities to nourish, strengthen, and prepare believers for lifelong service. Whether you’re new to the faith or seeking deeper growth, there’s a place for you to be equipped.

Sunday Seminary

Sundays, 08:00–08:45 (before the main worship service)

These focused classes build strong biblical foundations and help believers live out their faith daily.

Topics include:

  • Evangelism
  • Marriage
  • Discovery Classes
  • Parenting
  • Foundations of Faith
  • Bible Study
  • Devotional Life
    …and more.

Intensives: Teaching & Training

Saturdays, 08:00–13:00

Our full-day intensives provide space for deeper study and practical equipping for ministry and everyday discipleship.

“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” — 2 Peter 3:18 (ESV)

Examples of past and upcoming topics:

  • Grammar (for deeper Bible study)
  • False Teachings & Discernment
  • Parenting
  • Marriage

👉 If you’re serious about growing in grace and truth, these intensives are for you.

Expository Preaching: Feeding the Flock with the Word

At Witbank Baptist Church, we are committed to expository preaching—the faithful, verse-by-verse proclamation of God’s Word.

This means:

  • The meaning of the text is drawn out, not imposed

  • Every sermon is anchored in context, doctrine, and application

  • Christ is central, not the preacher

  • The tone is reverent, not performative

“Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.” — 2 Timothy 4:2 (ESV)

Expository preaching is one of the ways we equip the saints—feeding the flock with truth, protecting against error, and calling every believer to joyful obedience.

  • Recognize and gently respond to false teaching

  • Grow in theological confidence and humility

These themes are explored in our blog series, Sunday Seminary, and teaching intensives.
