Matthew set out to prove that Jesus is the Messiah, and in Matthew 11–12 he shows how people responded to Him.

In Matthew 11:1-15, some doubted. In verses 1–6 Jesus confronted John’s doubts, and in verses 7–15 He affirmed John before the crowd, who may have been unsettled by those doubts.
